Für die Südafrikanerin Balungile Gumede ist mit dem Engagement bei Disneys DER KÖNIG DER LÖWEN ein Traum wahr geworden. Nach ihrer Zeit am College tourte sie 2011 als Mama Africa mit der Produktion African Mamas sing Miriam Makeba durch die Niederlande. Anschließend verzauberte sie das Publikum in ihrem Heimatland als Brides Maid Zodwa in Wedding Party sowie auch als Sängerin und Erzählerin in Reflect – Celebrate – Live. Nachdem sie 10 Jahre lang für Disneys DER KÖNIG DER LÖWEN vorgesungen hatte, ist Balungile Gumede nun überglücklich, als Sarabi auf der Bühne zu stehen.
„Ich freue mich so sehr, dem Publikum meine lebensfrohe Persönlichkeit zu zeigen und für meine Arbeit wertgeschätzt und anerkannt zu werden!“ Auch möchte sie in Hamburg die Chance nutzen, Deutsch zu üben und das Land und seine Leute besser kennenzulernen.
For the South African Balungile Gumede is the commitment to Disney’s THE LION KING a dream come true. After her time at college she toured in 2011 as Mama Africa with production African Mamas sing Miriam Makeba by the Netherlands. Then she enchanted the audience in their home country as Brides Maid Zodwa in Wedding Party as well as a singer and storyteller in Reflect – Celebrate – Live. After she had sung for 10 years for Disney’s THE LION KING, Balungile Gumede is now overjoyed to stand as Sarabi on stage.
