Die Rolle der Nala in Disneys DER KÖNIG DER LÖWEN kennt die in Durban geborene Südafrikanerin nur allzu gut. Sie sang zwischen 2007 und 2011 zuerst in Südafrika und dann in Las Vegas bei Disney‘s The Lion King im Ensemble und coverte die Hauptrolle der Nala sowie die der Sarabi.
Zuletzt ging sie von 2011 bis 2012 mit Disney‘s The Lion King auf Tour in den USA, wo sie für zwei Monate die Hauptrolle der Nala besetzte.
Doch das waren nicht die einzigen Engagements für Nokubonga Khuzwayo: In Südafrika war sie Teil der weltweit gefeierten Show Umoja und spielte in Madiba’s Magic die Madiba. „Das Engagement bei Disneys DER KÖNIG DER LÖWEN in Hamburg bedeutet für mich vor allem eines: Künstlerisch wachsen! Die Show werde ich in einer neuen, für mich noch unbekannten Sprache singen, das ist sehr spannend! Zudem werde ich viele Menschen aus unterschiedlichen Kulturkreisen kennen lernen, mit denen ich zusammen auf der Bühne stehe“, freut sich die begeisterte Sportlerin, die sich vorstellen kann, später auch als Personal Trainer zu arbeiten.
